Wolfslair prospect Tony Moran will be in action again a week on Saturday against Lee McKibben at OMMAC 6 'BATTLESTARS'.
OMMAC regular Moran 5-2 last fought on Chris Zorba's Fight Stars 4 at the end of June recording a unanimous decision win over Aurelijus Kerpe. McKibben 3-5 has won his last 2 fights by submission and is a regular on the Cage Wars promotion, this will be his first appearance on an OMMAC event.
Moran is a warrior, he comes from a professional boxing background and has a never back down attitude. He has been in some tough scraps lately with 3 of his last 4 fights going to the 3rd round and is well aware that McKibben will provide another tough test. Whilst a quick decisive victory would be great he is prepared for whatever 'The Dragon' has to offer.
"Lee is a good all rounder. I will take nothing for granted and anticipate everything.
"Quick wins are always nice, but they are a bonus. I always expect a hard long fight and given that the weakest part of my game is applying submissions, which if better, would probably have seen my recent fights finishing earlier. Recently I have come up against 2 of the toughest men I have ever fought - in any form of combat - they always had the potential of being long tough fights. It's good for the mind and spirit though, when your out toughing the tough guy."
OMMAC 6 sees Moran make his 4th appearance at The Olympia in Liverpool. It will be his 4th fight this year and his 3rd in only 2 months. It has certainly been a busy period but it is no less than is expected from the up and comers in the sport.
"I have been training no-stop since Christmas with only short breaks", said Moran, "I have always trained this way. Mainly because I love to train and as a plus point, I am ready to fight if an opportunity arises.
"I have 2 fights planned for August and then hopefully one in September and October. I need to get noticed quickly, otherwise the work, family and training combination are going to take their toll in the end. In a way i'm like a singer/comedian doing the rounds in the local small halls, trying to get my big break before all the long hard nights do me in, [laughs]."
Tony Moran has been fighting out of the now world famous Wolfslair Academy for some time now. A number of Wolfslair fighters such as Tom Blackledge have recently been signed up by the UFC and with a handful of the fighters making appearances at UFC 120 its a hectic period for the gym.

Moran told Full Mount MMA, "The wolfie is buzzing at the moment and given that 4 of the lads fighting in October, are middleweight and upwards, I'll probably be sparring quite a lot in the coming weeks. Quinton Jackson is then fighting in November and its likely I will be one of his sparring partners also. It's a great time to be a wolfie fighter and an obvious inspiration for me to want to be, were some of my training partners already are."
Another Wolfslair fighter is on the card at OMMAC 6, heavyweight KO expert Adam Parkes takes on Roy Hales and Moran looks forward to seeing his training partner and a few others fight.
"Adam Parkes my gym brother is fighting and me and him have been putting the graft in together for the past 3 months, day in day out, so I am looking forward to seeing him do well. I also look forward to all the other talented Liverpool and St Helens fighters doing well - they are a great bunch of lads and are all working hard to make it."
